We designed this new piloted tap (U.S. Patent number 5,562,371) to help keep the tap aligned to the drilled hole. The L4 and L6 taps are made of CPM-M4. Improper tap alignment is the number one cause of broken taps. You can do a lot to eliminate that cause with this extra bit of insurance.
